The Cabin
Baxter Ridge Retreat is a private cabin located on 16 acres in Keene, NY, home of the high peaks. The cabin is nestled on the eastern side of Baxter Mountain. The cabin has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is an an open living/kitchen area with a wood stove. Off of the living area there is a spacious deck overlooking a large fire pit area with retro wood-burning stove at the center. There is also a screened porch off the lower level bedroom. The property has a private hiking trail off the driveway that leads to a gorgeous overlook with another fire pit area. This trail also connects to the beloved Baxter Mountain Trail. There is a second trail through the woods that leads to a rope swing for the kids to enjoy!
Living Space
The living space is where you connect and unwind. It’s open, with big windows that pull in the Adirondack light. A stone fireplace keeps things warm for cozy nights. The kitchen, fully equipped with a spacious island, makes meals and gatherings effortless. A vintage Marantz 2230 and Dual 1019 turntable spin records, setting the vibe. A kids’ play area keeps the little ones happy.
Private Hiking Trails
This is your private trail. Sixteen acres of Adirondack wilderness, just for you. Hike the 0.25 mile path, pick wild blueberries in season, and find two hammocks waiting at the overlook. The fire pit sits there, ready for your stories, your marshmallows, your quiet nights under the stars or an early morning hike with a hot coffee to see the sunrise. No neighbors, just mountains and sky.
About Us
Mike & Ashley are the owners and hosts of Baxter Ridge Retreat. We have two young children and a third on the way. We are both busy professionals and work in healthcare. We have been coming to the ADKs to vacation for several years and even got engaged here. We feel in love with everything the ADKs has to offer. When we had children we wanted a place we could go that would allow our children to explore and learn while providing us an escape from the day-to-day. So, what started as a dream to own our own place in the ADKs to spend time with our children and escape the everyday demands of our busy lives turned into an opportunity to be able to share our cabin and the surrounding space with our friends and family. We want to give others the experience that we have here in ADKs, our home away from home. We want to share the quiet stillness and the exciting adventure that the mountains and the forests offer. The ADKs are unique in that you can find whatever you are looking for, whether you need a change of pace to relax and recharge or you want to explore the great outdoors, this is for you! We hope you will stay with us and be able to share in this wonderful space.
